Attached is a diagram from Helen Barrett et. al. that shows two very distinct approaches to ePortfolio design and development. This diagram actually two separate "purposes" for the ePortfolio.

Questions to Consider after examining the diagram of two different types of ePortfolios:

  • From your experiences with ePorfolio implementation, are you following one of the paths shown in the diagram and why did you choose it?

  •  Are you finding that you are trying to do both paths with your ePortfolio system and that it is a struggle?

  • What are the issues surrounding the decision to follow one path with an ePortfoilo versus the other.
